Our History
In December of 1909 J. M. Gieringer, Lewis R. Hine, Banning Hopping, William Adams, William Hines, and William Minges met and incorporated the Miami Savings and Loan Company.
The new company met at 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month. The first directors were elected January 10, 1910, they were: Lewis R. Hine, William Adams, Frank Arnold, William Bohnert, Amos Pickens, Joseph Gieringer Sr. and William Minges. The original officers of Miami Savings were: J. M. Gieringer, President; William Bohnert, Vice President; Lewis R. Hine, Treasurer, Amos Pickens, Secretary; and Michael Minges, Attorney.
For a first home, Miami Savings rented office
space in the Joseph Gieringer Sons Company building until they purchased the
building in 1931. It was remodeled and used until 1964 when the company moved
into their new and present location, on lots purchased from Ruth Schardine.
The
bank has been remodeled and expanded at this location so that, now, it is over
twice the size as it was in 1964

In February of 1995 the bank opened its second location on South State Street in Harrison, Ohio. This branch continues to thrive at this location.

Just over four years later, in August of 1999
they opened their third branch in Oxford, Ohio on West Spring Street near the
campus of Miami University.
At the end of September 2008 Miami Savings Bank continued its growth by moving it's Oxford office to a much larger facility at 475 McGuffey Avenue.

An original capital stock of $50,000.00 and one office has grown to a Bank which now has three offices and nearly 115 million dollars in assets.
